Recommended for anyone traveling (or wanting to travel) through the Alps. Great weaving together of the author’s trip and descriptions of what life is like there today along with different stories of the human history of the area. A bit too much description of driving up and down steep roads, and the description holds true in that there is almost no natural history of the mountains which I would have enjoyed, but overall a fun read.
