Book Review: Hop Stop & Go by Utpal K Dutta

Stars: 2.5/5

Location: Various places around the world including India, the USA, and Singapore.

Publication date: 2017

The stories in Hop Stop & Go are simple short snippets of travel observation from a traveler and businessman. While I was interested in and appreciated the perspective of an Indian businessman who had traveled and lived in different parts of the world over the last few decades, the stories and character portraits never went into much depth to allow the reader to learn much from the brief encounters Dutta retells. With a subtitle of “fascinating encounters with people around the world,” I was disappointed that the book only included the briefest descriptions of meetings and observations. It was a breezy read and many readers may enjoy the chance to flip through quick stories and think about Dutta’s insights to different travel situations around the world, but overall I was hoping for more depth and insight about the impressive list of places the author has traveled.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
